Adding water is a pain. If there is already some water in the tank, you can water the curtains, which will cause the water to spill out on the front of the engine, or you will have to remove the curtains, which were in the water and get wet, causing the water to drip out. If you plan on not using it for a few days, be sure to get rid of all the water. I didn't use mine for a few days but left the water on and the curtains got mouldy. So you have to do without a curtain, which reduces efficiency. But when ice is added to the water (it probably needs to be crushed), the wind gets even colder (find out :)). The low setting is fine, but I couldn't use level 2 or level 3 on calls as the fan was a bit noisy. Good thing it's portable.
