I chose this comb over similar combs that cost a lot less because I love 'nice' things like homemade combs. This comb arrived very well packaged - it is in a holder shaped like a comb and then the entire assembly is in a box that fits snugly around the assembly. The company didn't have to be so careful as the comb must have been scratched before packaging. It has a carefully polished surface with a million tiny scratches, so an item that should look really nice ends up looking pretty ruined instead. It's not the end of the world - it's a comb - but at this price point the quality control really should be better.
