Things I learned installing this cover.

1) Take your time. 2) Do it in good light during the day (bright sunshine) so you can see what you're doing better. 3) The instructions provided are fine, but I would recommend watching a few videos to make sure you understand how to sew this. 4) If you do NOT know how to make beautiful stitches, use black thread. With threads of a different color (e.g. red), your mistakes will be noticeable. You're going to make a mistake by two if you're not used to sewing these covers on. The black stitching (mostly) hides your flaws. 5) Keep tugging on the thread to make sure everything stays taut. You don't have to keep it under constant pressure. Simply pull on it gently after each stitch. 6) In my photo you can see that the factory stitching on the cover (bottom center) is offset slightly to the left of the bottom center of the wheel. When I first put the lid on it was dead. I think it moved a little to the left when I pulled on the seam. I sewed from right to left (clockwise). I would suggest that if you're sewing in the same direction as me, you shift this stitch slightly to the right when you first put it on. So he can be dead. It might not bother you at all, but I have a bit of an obsessive compulsive disorder about things like this. But by the time I noticed it was already too late. I wasn't planning on opening the seam to move it a bit. 7) Use the tip of something small and blunt to flatten/smooth out the knots. As a result, they "disappear" in the rest of the line. I used a rounded handle on a small pair of scissors that I used. The rounded shank (rather than the pointed end) of a Phillips screwdriver will likely work just as well. 8) DON'T ASK ABOUT YOUR TIME! These cover stitches are a head above overlay stitches in terms of comfort. They sit securely on the steering wheel and provide good support. It is definitely worth it.
