I recently added the Fuji X-E3 to my Fuji camera collection X-T1 and X100) I was looking for a pancake fix lens in a "normal" focal length of 40-50mm (full frame equivalent). I grew up with fully manual 35mm film cameras and I still love metal prime lenses with manual focus. In one of my Fuji discussion forums, this lens was highly recommended by many X-E3 owners. The price of this lens is less than what I paid for a quality UV filter on some of my expensive Fuji lenses so it was an easy purchase. I was pleasantly surprised that the lens arrived in perfect condition, with solid metal construction, the insides are clean, the glass is clean, the focus and aperture rings rotate smoothly, and the camera is securely attached to the camera body. A much bigger surprise was the joy of use and the picture quality. My X-E3 with this lens is in a smaller form factor than my X100. Focusing is much easier than with both of my 7 Artisans manual lenses. Image quality is excellent and although f/2.8 has some noticeable vignetting I find it adds an artistic touch to my images. I've had experience with this focal length before (my first 35mm film camera was a Canon rangefinder with a 40mm f/2.8 lens) and I find the full frame equivalent focal length of 42mm much more useful for general purpose applications . than 50mm, which I find too long for my style of photography. The image I've attached to this review is a test shot taken with Acros at ISO 12,800 and f/2.8. I love the way this lens delivers images and it has quickly become my go-to manual focus lens.
