Really damn good lens

This lens is incredibly sharp, even wide open. You get sharp images with nice strong vignetting and medium contrast, and when you're shooting close to your subject you get beautiful swirling bokeh in the background. It produces images that look a bit retro, but with the resolution you'd expect from a modern day digital photography lens. I was so satisfied that I bought my Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8 on ebay within a few days. I really enjoy the craftsmanship of this lens and the aperture/focus rings…

Good image quality and low price

This has become my favorite focal length. At 28mm (42mm equiv.), it represents an almost normal field of view that is somewhat comparable to human vision. A bit longer than the typical 35mm street photography equivalent, but I like it. A bit soft around the edges, but at f4 it almost disappears. Fast enough at f2.8 for most applications. This is a purely manual lens, so you set the aperture on the lens. For Fuji, make sure your camera is set to record without a lens. My only complaint is that…

Pros
  • Maximum magnification: 0.11x
Cons
  • The list is long.

Surprisingly good lens at a ridiculously low price

I recently added the Fuji X-E3 to my Fuji camera collection X-T1 and X100) I was looking for a pancake fix lens in a "normal" focal length of 40-50mm (full frame equivalent). I grew up with fully manual 35mm film cameras and I still love metal prime lenses with manual focus. In one of my Fuji discussion forums, this lens was highly recommended by many X-E3 owners. The price of this lens is less than what I paid for a quality UV filter on some of my expensive Fuji lenses so it was an easy…

Great lens for the price

I've been torn about buying this lens. The reason I ended up getting it really was the value it offered. You'd be surprised how much cheaper/older cameras can be stretched before actually noticing a significant drop in quality. This is the case with this lens. Does it have features? Yes. Is it a replacement for the Fuji 27mm? Not really. However, I would say that any technical shortcomings of this lens can easily be circumvented. I've heard of issues with this lens's infinity stop focusing the…
