This is a great projector especially if you use it for gaming. I was so impressed that I gave up the television altogether. He's super bright. Excellent response time. Enough features. I have a Fire Stick, Chromecast, PS4 and a direct HDMI connection. But. He has trouble shaking hands. It's not the end of the world but it's so annoying that I contacted Optoma customer service to see if they have any solutions. I've encountered mentions of this issue in several reviews, including Projector Central. The main problem I have is connecting directly to my MacBook, Thunderboldt to HDMI. In principle, the picture does not last, it flickers constantly. I've tried several cables and converters, nothing works. Other reviews mention problems with PS4 (I didn't have one) or other devices. I had a few issues with the Chromecast, but not as much as with a direct connection. I think it's a firmware issue, not a hardware issue. Customer service just turned me down even though I sent them links to all other mentions of the handshake issue. They offered to hand it over as it is still under warranty. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with the device yet. I don't want to send it back as they will probably send me a repair. I just want Optoma to acknowledge the issue and take care of it. They say they have no reports of handshake problems. Well, I'll report it. However, this is a great projector for the money. I searched for a long time before the update. I chose it mainly for the brightness and gaming aspects.
