I have never used beeswax but it seems to be the wax of choice for maintaining wooden furniture. I applied the wax with a soft cloth, trying to follow the texture. After wiping it off, I let it sit for 5 minutes and then wiped it off with a fresh cloth. I don't know if the beeswax protects the wood but the wood finish looked great after polishing.
