My wife's computer has Windows 7 x64 and 4 gigabytes of memory, but the computer was sluggish. I installed these two chips with 2 gigabytes in addition to the 4 gigabytes already installed and now your computer has 8 gigabytes of total memory. The new memory worked great in combination with the old memory, even though it was a different brand. Sometimes this can be a problem. Now it feels good to use her computer. This memory upgrade was the most cost-effective way to improve the performance of this computer. Storage isn't always an issue, but if you have less than 8 gigabytes, I'd recommend going up to 8 gigabytes if your computer can accommodate it.
