I don't know what happened. But it melted on me and could have started a fire if the circuit breaker hadn't tripped. Bought last year as a backup and used this spring. it took about 5 months. Maybe a splash? However, the hardware does not appear to be damaged and works with a different power strip. To my layman the light (LED?) in the power supply seems to be the weak link. Everything else holds up perfectly, even the device is plugged into the power strip. However, the light seems to be the point of failure. My guess is that it exploded and shorted out the terminals in the block. Or maybe it overheated and caused a short circuit? I wasn't looking when it happened. Unfortunately, after several hours of research over the last 3 days, I was not able to say exactly who to contact regarding the guarantee. It's said to be backed by a "lifetime guarantee," but that's useless if you can't get anyone to contact you. UPDATE: Still no contact details. A guarantee is only as good as the company behind it. Yellowjacket clearly doesn't want people messing with them. I will never buy their products again.
