It appears to be very high quality anodised aluminum
Haven't really used it yet but appears to be made from very high quality powder coated anodised aluminium. The rings that pull the bar sections together to lengthen them feel exceptionally tight when twisted to hold the sections in place. I highly doubt that they will be used in use. I will update this review once I use it more to see if my opinion changes.
