These scissors are perfect for trimming beards and mustaches. It's a bit shorter and less sharp than the traditional barber's scissors used to trim hair on the top of my head, making it much easier for me to trim my facial hair. Having a finger rest instead of just finger holes gave a noticeable improvement in control that I wasn't expecting. The finger inserts also make them very convenient to use. If you had particularly fat fingers you might have to take them out or struggle with the finger holes, but I don't have a problem and I don't think many will have problems. For the record, my wedding ring is a size 12 and I fit my fingers in the finger holes with no problem. The adjustable screw is a great feature that allows you to adjust the pressure between your thumb and fingertips so they never loosen, resulting in a twitch or a less-than-perfect cut. They are sharp out of the box and beautifully cut. I haven't had a single hair that gets caught or pulled, it always just cuts through any hair and creates a clean line where I want it. In terms of maintenance, the only thing I've done so far is keep them dry (I also don't store them in the bathroom as I need to replace the exhaust fan and it gets quite humid after showering etc.). Eventually I may lube the drive and screw assembly, but they're still as smooth as they were a few months ago when they were taken out of the box. If you are looking for a quality set of scissors at a reasonable price, this is it.
