Review on MSI ProSeries B450M PRO-M2 Max micro-ATX Motherboard with AMD Ryzen πŸ’» 1st and 2nd Gen AM4, M.2, USB 3, DDR4, D-Sub, DVI, HDMI by Jill Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A reliable B450 motherboard that works with the Ryzen 3000 series out of the box!

The box says "Ready for Ryzen 3000 Series" so it will work with any 3000 series APU or the latest Zen 2-based processor without any special components. A solid motherboard with a pretty good BIOS for basic tasks and settings. The board is very small, smaller than a standard mATX board, yet it fits into very small cases. It's got limited dual-slot RAM slots, but that's okay because you'll just stick in 16GB or 32GB and you'll stop there. If you need more, you wouldn't look at the B450 board at all. I hooked up an Athlon 3000G APU to this board and it booted up for the first time with no display issues. Fiction. Win 10 installed everything I needed and I didn't have to buy anything special. Everything works. Easy to set up. Ease of installation. Good chipsets. Solid range.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
