Gently straighten the line as you go. it has a metal memory

We had to set up a makeshift dog pen on the property while we worked on some fencing problems. This dog run was a good choice for our needs. My master son and I quickly set it up together. and it would have installed in record time if we had straightened the cable instead of just untangling it as we go. Lesson learned and passed. The same thing . Remember to loosen the band about 3/4 before attaching it to anything. That makes a big difference later. You must thread the end of the 100 foot cable through the reel section of the carrier cable whether you use the full 100 feet or not. The system would be a little better if the pulley could be opened with a screw, but we're happy with the job it all does. I like that it's well coated and chew resistant, but I have a few words of caution. Our monster pup (a breed of guardian dog) was smart enough to wrap itself around a small tree to release the carabiner, allowing Houdini's monster to escape. Therefore, please ensure that there are no obstacles to escape for clever dogs, and do not leave dogs unattended, especially when setting up for the first time. The line is a great help, but it cannot be as reliable as a fence.
