Review on ๐Ÿ  AQQA Aquarium Electric Power Sponge Filter - 3W/5W Submersible Foam Filter for Saltwater and Freshwater Fish Tank by Kendra Johnson

Interesting concept but misleading claims, poor design and limited features

Using a water pump in this filter design was an interesting alternative to simply modifying a similarly constructed filter as many others have done. The first misleading statement is order deletion. Only coal can do that. While adding a media chamber like they did on this design might help a bit, the filter simply isn't designed to filter the stated tank sizes. I have a 36 gallon front nose that is heavily planted with limited supply at the moment and couldn't even last two weeks with proper water filtration. Maybe it could work for a flat 30 gallon or a regular 20 gallon. The second deception is the Venturi nozzle. It's there, but it doesn't work. It is possible to hook up an air pump to it, but that would defeat the purpose of using this water pump based design from the start. Water flow, while affecting the surface, is negligible at best when the head is submerged. When the head is taken out of the water, arousal improves significantly, but no more. The best method of stirring the surface would be a venturi nozzle and a constant stream of bubbles.
