Knives have long become dull, we decided to give money for stones instead of a new set. It was the BEST price and I already have 5 knives in my kitchen that cut like NEW! Direction is easy, guidance to find the right angle was a great set of training wheels to help me get a feel for where it should be and get the right descent. With rubber grips, the smooth bamboo holder made it really easy. For practice I took one of those tiny demonstrator knives that the grocery store gave out and was able to smooth out the burrs that came across it and this cheap knife cut almost the same as my more expensive ones! I wouldn't have thought it possible! (extends the life of a cheap knife!) I would highly recommend this product, nice enough to keep after the stones are completely dry, easy to use, comfy rubber holders and instructions on how to get that nice edge!
