I bought a pair of these pens for my 3 ferrets (2 females and 1 male) a little over a year ago. Letting ferrets roam free in your house is like letting a bunch of toddlers roam free in your house and you should take care of them at all times when they are away unless you have a ferret room or a completely ferret-proof home. . There can be multiple ferrets and I knew mine didn't have enough time to play outside of the cage because I didn't always have the energy to watch them, so I bought a few. One pen isn't enough for multiple active ferrets, especially after adding a litter box, but 2 is better. These pens were great! Not a single escape in the year I've had them, which bothered me the most. My ferrets cannot climb, squeeze through, or lift bars, and my ferrets vary widely in size, strength, and endurance. You can move the pin in and out, which changes the shape, but that's about it. Now I can walk my ferrets several times a day to free up some energy and keep them happy. I was even able to hook up a hose from the enclosure to their cage so they could play whenever they wanted and never run away unattended! It was definitely worth it! Here are a few things to consider when buying one for ferrets: - If leaving them unattended, make sure they have safe, undamaged toys that they cannot accidentally swallow. - You should consider buying an extra bowl/bottle for food and water and a toilet if they will be spending a lot of time in their enclosure. - If you decide to place an enclosure around the cage like some people have done here, make sure they can't get inside the cage. Ferrets get bored after a while, so change toys or buy new ones more often, and I would recommend letting them roam the house occasionally. .
