i am currently using this as more of a visibility cover so that drivers can see me so i have not yet tested it in a downpour.i use it on my Deuter Walker 20 & Deuter Speedlite 20, half packed and it is a tight fit. i tried it on my Osprey Palea 26 liters & it barely fits the pack. it's better to have some slack on a rain cover so it covers a backpack completely & to help it stay on since it doesn't have a bungee cord or straps to hold it in place. minus one star there. the other reason why i subtracted a star is this raincover actually came with holes in it, near the reflective fabric. so i'd suggest to the company to have better quality control & probably not advertise this raincover as being able to fit up to a 30 liter backpack unless that backpack is empty as it barely fits a half full Deuter Walker 20 liters & Osprey Palea 26 liters.
