Although some have complained about the speed, I'm quite impressed with this drive. It really shines where old USB 2 drives completely fail. That is, when copying/moving many small files. It easily copies many hundreds of tiny files to the old USB stick I have in seconds instead of twenty minutes. Why is it running so much faster? I honestly do not know. But it offers a read speed of 150MB per second for single large files. Write speed is a decent 20MB per second supported all the time. (It starts higher, but never slows down below 20MB per second. Don't get me wrong. Top speed is good, but sustained speed over a long write is the true test of how fast the drive is. Does it heat up? Yes , yes But not so hot that I could burn myself And of course harmless to the disc itself Heat will probably shorten the life of the disc But I don't expect it to last ten years Time to think Ten years ago the biggest flash drive, the one you could get was about 128 megabytes. That's a thousand times more. I really hope this drive is very out of date by then. Scorching hot. That's an opinion. While I appreciate the information, it would be better to hear what both drives and the external port of the computer reach the actual temperature. I'm sure some of you have one of those handy IR thermometers? Unfortunately, ic h none anyway, thanks for reading.
