Don't get me wrong, I really like this item (hence the high rating). However, in the picture (to me at least) the bottom looks black, the middle is purple and the top is white/clear. In fact, the underside is actually a dark purple, not black (which then fades to a lighter purple and then white/clear). This actually makes the description "purple ombre" more accurate, it's just not what I expected from the picture posted by the seller; but to be honest it looks blacker from a distance and dark purple up close and/or in the light. Everything shows that it's nice and well made - I haven't seen any fingerprints and it feels sturdy with some weight. The chain it comes with is of decent quality and also has a carabiner claw (clasp type) which makes it easy to hang.
