Doesn't detect smoke

I'm not an expert but this product appears to pose a risk to human life. I base this opinion on backyard tests I've run, which I'll detail below. I bought a pair of these about 2 years ago. One of these recently started beeping constantly, which is not one of the fault phases listed on the sticker on the back of the smoke alarm. So I threw that away. But I still had one of these in an important place in my house - in the children's room. So I was a little worried about the quality control of these devices and read other one star reviews here. I have seen other reviewers state that these appear to be non-working smoke alarms and will not beep in a real fire situation. So I decided to check it out myself. I pressed the test button first to make sure the smoke detector was working properly. Activated with the button normally. I then started a paper and cardboard fire in my backyard grill and tested one of them with what First Alert made, which is the leading fire alarm brand as far as I can tell. I tested it on a First Alert smoke detector that also uses photoelectric detection. After about 15 seconds over the hot, smoky fire, the First Alert smoke alarm began beeping. So far, so good. Then I tried this smoke alarm (the one under consideration). He never squeaks. I held it directly over a smoking fire for about 2 minutes and got nothing. It seems to me that you cannot trust your life if the smoke detector does not work while being held in hot swirling smoke for 2 minutes. or the life of your family in a nutshell.
