This is a great printer for Windows users and with the right knowledge for Mac users too. However, as a Mac user I returned a fully working printer as a replacement as I didn't know how to reset the print queue. And when I contacted tech support, they didn't know about it and only had instructions to help Windows users. This is not uncommon and given that 4XL is primarily used for label delivery, it is not surprising. Companies mostly use Windows. But if you are a Mac user, read the comments below and buy this printer. There are two things you need to do if the printer won't print but the software thinks the printer is ready and the print light is on. 1. Restart the printer by unplugging the power cord and waiting for the blue light on the front panel to turn off. Slowly count to 15 to fully discharge the capacitors, then reconnect power. 80% of the time this is done.2. MAC OSX USERS. After resetting the printer's internal software according to the instructions above, the software will recognize the printer and the print indicator will light up, but pressing the print button does nothing, you need to restart ("resume") the print queue. To do this, follow these steps: (a) Choose Printers & Scanners from the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of the System Preferences window. (b) Select DYMO LabelWriter 4XL from the printer list. If not, close and restart the labeling software. (c) Click on "Open Print Queue" (d) Click on "Continue" in the upper left corner of the "Print Queue" window. This will start print jobs in the queue. If you don't want them to print, press Pause and use the X marks next to each print job to remove some or all items from the print queue. When the queue is empty, click Continue. (e) Before closing this window, click Print in the Dymo Label software and make sure it prints. If not, make sure "Resume" is lit. If not, go back to step (b) and continue until the resume LED lights up and press it. Unfortunately, the Dymo label printing software does not provide direct access to the Mac's print queue, allowing you to continue working from the label app, but this is not the case. Mac OSX users should therefore be aware that they need to continue printing by following the instructions above. This is a great printer with decent software but optimized for Windows. And tech support couldn't help me at all when I called. Nice people but all their knowledge to support windows users.
