I spent a lot of time reading vacuum cleaner reviews before purchasing this vacuum. I had an old Eureka canister that I had carried around for years and knew it was high time for an upgrade. I wanted a bagless model and didn't want to spend a fortune. I didn't want a huge thing either because my storage space is limited. I chose Severin and was very satisfied. It's a good compact size, very quiet and has a charming red retractable cord. The suction power is great - the first time I vacuumed it was actually quite scary how much it had collected. I'm not a pet owner so I don't bother with pet hair, but it's perfectly capable of handling everyday dust and dirt. I have mostly wood floors with rugs, no carpets. I'd suggest emptying the dirt bin from the outside if doing so can throw dust around, but that's a minor inconvenience. Highly recommended.
