I've returned to climbing for my sons. We use trees because there aren't many rocks in Florida. Now they can easily be removed from the game. But if you find yourself on a static lane and find yourself falling like a rock (for whatever reason), you need to slow down at least a foot or two before you whiz. One of my kids (a young man) went down with a "Decender" (one of the most popular). And it was a little light on the stand and too hard on the lever. I should have spent more time with him at waist level before letting go. Needless to say, the fall lasted only a split second and the catch wasn't very nice. He was lucky (and very flexible) and wasn't injured. So now everyone has a KONG and leans on their rope and customized bands to slow them down before take off. In fact, this is a drop screamer. Resetting can be painful if you're loaded on it. But having a jump scare that can be dropped is very nice. Bite off, tie off, fasten, open loops on the conga and pull out more cord. It is therefore not only adjustable, but also easily adjustable depending on the weight and duration of the deceleration. Don't forget the stop knot!
