I traveled for two years in Central America for two year and am a bag carrier. This bag replaces a small canvass messenger bag that I received from the Sierra Club for becoming a member. This one is a tad longer and deeper. It is handsome and perfect for use as satchel. I like the flap and ability to zip everything in, but I use use this function yet. I carry a wallet, sunglasses, mp3 player, phone, hand sanitizer, lip protecting, a pen, a small notepad, a rolled-up reusable nylon shopping bag, and I still have room. My coffee mug fits when I finish drinking from it. One can fit a water bottle in the bag too (minus the coffee mug) or clip it to the strap attachment.
