Review on 🚲 JGbike MTB 32 Hole Quick Release and Axle Hubs for 6 Bolts Disc Brake Mountain Bike Bicycle - Front 100mm/Rear 135mm & Front 100mm/Rear 142mm - Including Exchange End Caps by Kendriece Figueroa

Great hub set but very little documentation and limited HD shell

Purchased XD hub set with separate HG driver shell to build a gravel bike. The hubs are very clean and minimalistic with graphics that I like. Very good bearings, good QR and disc rotor surface finish which you can't see in the photos. The 14g DT spokes fit great and the QR end caps have a very tight tolerance. I had to remove some of the thick power plating in the rear dropout of the stainless steel frame to get it in place. They ride very smoothly, and the freewheel buzzes like a nest of Alabama red wasps. Gave 4 stars for two reasons. First, the XD driver body is a road version (XD-R) and includes a spacer for 11 speeds, but the HG has 34.95mm Mtn spacing, not 36.75mm Road, which also includes a spacer for 8-10 gears can use. I know the hubset is called Mountain, but it limits the capabilities of the cassette for a modern, well-built wheel, and given the XD's road credentials, that would make sense. I'll ask for their S-ROAD cartridges to see if they work on their own hubs. Second, there is no documentation. Nothing came with the hub or driver housing and I can't find anything on their website. I even sent an email from the contact page I found but no response. Had to scour YouTube for a driver housing replacement and actually found it only slipped after grabbing the rear hub on it and seeing it move down the axle. At least the end caps had a video on Revain. I would use them again but might consider other options with the HG road body.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • So so
