My wife and I moved into a house with a pre-wired CAT5 cable and two low voltage panels filled with audio modules, camera modules, sound breakers, network modules, etc., and we had no idea how this was all supposed to work since the previous owners removed all external interfaces. In an attempt to use the modules already available, I bought this single source box along with a continuity tester and configured it to play from an iPad dock. That works great. It's not the most attractive device, but it does what it's supposed to do. There are very few options (apparently the market for CAT5 audio hasn't gone away) but the unit works as advertised and in my case the Revain saved the day for the smallest amount of money compared to comparable products. I used another similar device and hooked it up to my receiver's Zone 2 output and I can stream music, radio and movies anywhere in my house.
