Unlike most yarn cards, these have lots of yarn and easily hold more than a full skein. I like them for small projects that only use a few colors (9 or less). I cut them in half and attach a ring to one of the thread holes to hang them on my embroidery stand. I seal the area between the holes with transparent tape and then use a very thin marker to write the symbols/numbers of the thread over the holes. The tape is easy to remove when my project is complete and the card stays like new. The best thing about them is that these cards let you remove a thread from half the ball of thread. No need to unwind/wind the spool or fiddle with loose threads back into the plastic bag. Just take a strand with the needle and slowly pull it out from the rest. This is a little inconvenient when you need to fill out a card or use multiple skeins. This whole thread tends to get a bit tangled, and a long card can be unwieldy. That's why I like to cut them smaller. Unfortunately most of my projects work with 40-90 colors of floss making them an occasional use for me. I use Thread Drops to hang up to 20 balls of yarn from a 2 inch binding ring. They are even easier to use than these cards.
