These are great for controlling thread on bobbins to prevent thread from tangling or spinning out of control. I have an embroidery sewing machine and many different colors of thread and matching bobbins. In the past I've tried a different style of coil clamp that was slightly larger and had a hinge. They didn't stay either. I put clips on the spool and use a rubber band to attach the spool to the appropriate spool of thread. I will order more
