When K-Cups Collide

Update: K-Cups don't fit, they crowd together at the base. Try to push one all the way and it will push out the adjacent K cup. As such, there is never a very consistent or secure fit. The NIFTY 5724B is a good K-cup carousel for the price. Stable, quality assembly, overall good design, there are some minor design flaws. If I had to do it again I would consider some other Nifty models as alternatives for the following reasons. The handle at the top of the carousel does not work. You cannot rotate the carousel with the handle. There is a small downside to the long-term cosmetic design for the black lacquer version. The "tree" that holds the K-cups is supported by a washer that rests on another washer at the base. When you sling the wood, the black paint on those two washers rubs together, forming a sort of gray dust that you may or may not like on your countertops. Eventually, the paint wears away at these friction points, exposing bare metal. The same wear occurs between the axle, the post in the center of the carousel, and the washers at the top and bottom. Because of this, the chrome version can boast better durability. As a solution to paint wear, I used a toothpick to apply a small amount of Labelle 108 plastic-safe oil to the worn parts. The carousel appears to spin more freely and should significantly reduce wear.
