I did not see the product page before receiving this item or writing this review, so it is difficult to compare what is expected of a product and its performance. The only info I have is that it supports 25lbs. So using two brackets (one at each end of the shelf) should hold 50 pounds right? Or not? Not sure and haven't tested it at 50lbs, but 25lbs on the shelf isn't a problem. These are very strong brackets. I think you should maximize the strength of the shelf itself before emphasizing it. The small hooks are also very strong. You have absolutely no flexibility. You could probably put a stuffed big bag on top of one of them.
