Not bad for the price but note the description

Caveat - as you'll see in the review below I couldn't get this to work with my hard drive due to my own error but I'll check assuming it works. I bought this to recover data on my hard drive when my laptop suddenly got bitten by dust. Unfortunately I have an NVMe disk and it didn't work with this case. That was my fault. The description says it doesn't work with NVMe drives, only SATA, but I just looked at the pictures of the slot you put the drive in - my drive looked like the pictures and I bought it , without noticing. So don't do what I did - pay attention to the description. I assume this would work if I had a SATA hard drive, since the computer *saw* that something was plugged in but didn't read the drive. The case is pretty easy to use, but there are better ones for a few extra bucks (the Sabrent, for example, feels sturdier and easier to swap out). I'm not deducting a star for this as it's a very reasonable price, but keep that in mind as needed. This case feels plasticky but is solid. You have to pull out the tray to get to the drive, which makes a crunching noise. This probably isn't a problem unless you plan on changing drives frequently. Inside there are several clips to fix the hard drive. Since my version was the longest, I had trouble getting the hard drive into the clamp. After reading other reviews I found that the clips for mounting smaller drives get in the way and cause the drive to bend slightly. You can bend these clips back (and you should if you have a long disc to keep the disc from warping). After you pulled the clips back, the hard drive popped up easily, although the clips got in the way a bit when you put the black part back into the silver casing. Again, probably only a problem if you change them frequently. Finally there is a tiny screw to hold the black and silver pieces together. They kindly provided an extra screw as well as a small screwdriver which was nice. To be honest, I probably won't even use a screw unless I'm transporting a drive - as I mentioned, the internal slot fits in so snugly that it scratches a bit when you pull it out, so it's unlikely that it falls off during normal use. One final note: the case comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable, along with an adapter to convert Side A to Male C. It was nice - instead of having to choose one, they offered options. I don't know enough to know if side A with adapter C will affect transfer speed (as opposed to C to C), but unless your computer has a C connector, a C to C connector will not work. general. It was a nice touch, like an extra screw and screwdriver, ensuring you can use the case right away without having to hunt around the house for tiny screwdrivers or wires.
