I have had this grater for over 6 months now as I always buy large blocks of cheese from Costco. It does the job, but it's tricky because the base won't snap onto the counter, so some maneuvering is needed to keep rubbed things from spilling all over the place. There's also a random piece of plastic that should be on the back next to the base, but it never stays. I've put most of the parts in the dishwasher and they stay clean, you just have to be careful with the placenta to avoid puddles of water. I would buy a different brand if it were the same again.
