Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced American Standard Vormax Silicone Seal, 2-Inch by Rob Parsons

Mandatory for US standard double flush flush

If you have a US standard double flush toilet, be sure to stock it at home. This particular toilet has a serious disadvantage in that the seal fails about every six months. You'll notice it as you sit there and hear sounds like water running to fill the tank behind you. And that's what happens (and you didn't touch the flush handle). A "bubble" begins to form in the gasket, allowing water to seep through. The water level goes down and the automatic float in the tank fills up to the right level and locks the water. This keeps happening every few minutes. This wastes a lot of water. Your water bill will go up! It is very expensive to have a plumber replace this simple gasket every six months or so. Learn how to make it yourself as it only takes a few minutes and requires no tools. Otherwise your plumber will laugh to the bank.! Always keep some fillings handy. Then when you hear water flowing to fill the tank, you can fix it yourself in minutes. The only alternative would be to replace the entire toilet or file a class action lawsuit against American Standard - I decided to buy the gaskets and do it myself.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
