I've found that filling the grinder almost completely gives me the exact amount of coffee I need for a boost. When grinding, I just pulse for a few seconds, stop, press the grinder, check the grind, then pulse again if needed. Since I fill the grinder almost to the brim, I find that the grit can be a bit uneven, but that doesn't bother me much. I find it helps to half-knock on the mill. As for cleaning, I don't really do it. I just dump the set straight into the press and what's left is left over. I'm not too concerned if it mixes with the next batch. It's just sediment, and after all, it's coffee too. If you're looking for a sophisticated grinder that gives you a precise and consistent grind, this isn't for you. If just looking makes you happy, then so be it.
