When I bought my 2012 Toyota Tundra I knew gas prices were going to go up eventually so I started looking for something that would help with MPG a bit. One of these elements was the cold air intake. I looked at the K&N and Airaid cold air intake systems, they looked the same, but the Airaid was about $100 less. I like K&N but sometimes they think their name is worth a lot more. This cold air intake is quick and easy to install and the instructions are very clear. I was surprised by the incredibly loud "scream" or "howl" noises when accelerating hard or driving uphill. It bothered me a bit at first, but there is no sound at normal cruising speed on paved roads, nor on highways at high speeds. So I got used to it pretty quickly. Now I kinda like it when I have to stand up, press my foot, "crying" is cool. (Guilty Pleasure) Let me really stress, at normal steady speeds there is no "wailing", it's pleasantly quiet, the radio is easy to hear. Press your foot and it will sing. As for MPG there isn't much gain, maybe ½ to 1 MPG is better, that's disappointing. However, supplying cold air is only part of what needs to be done. My next step is a dual cathetback high flow exhaust. I have the front open to breathe better but the back is still restricted.
