First of all I had to send my pad back because the buttons didn't work properly - they didn't navigate properly to the next test or to a menu I didn't need. And the toner was faulty - it didn't emit a sound that could be heard even at a depth of 3 feet. . Before I sent it back though, I called Triplett (I had no problem finding the support number on their website. The recipe pointer immediately referred me to a support specialist who listed my issues with the unit and recommended I send it in .back to Amazon because it seems there is something wrong with the toner and buttons on the main unit) Before sending it back I tested 36 cables with it and although I had to double check some due to button errors, he did check the lines , and I was able to easily download the report to a computer running Windows 10. The report applied to each individual cable and allowed me to provide my customer with a report that ruled out the cables as a problem for their network. I didn't use an expensive tester and had no way to compare the results. I'm investing in a different one because it's fine for my small business. Before accepting an order, I contact the customer and ask if they want to use a specific certificate.
