Review on White Bose SoundLink II Wireless Headphones - Around-Ear by Joseph Rasmussen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The BEST headphones I've ever used!

EDIT: Having only owned these headphones for a few days over a year, read my updated review below the original! After reading the reviews and seeing nothing but stellar remarks about these headphones, I decided to throw in the money and give it a try. Let me tell you I wasn't disappointed. I'm definitely an audiophile; I've been making EDM music for a long time, which has taught me to find the right balance in songs. These headphones have an AMAZING balance! The most expensive headphones I've tried just have crazy boosted bass that makes my head ache. Not to mention it just doesn't sound good haha! In any case, these headphones have very crisp highs, good mids and crisp bass. You really are perfect. In terms of comfort, I can easily wear these things all day long. Sometimes I even forget I'm wearing these headphones. They look very stylish and are not too big. The carrying case is quite modest, works well, no problems. The earbuds charge quickly and the battery lasts about a week with daily use. I love the little voice that comes out when you switch devices or turn on your headphones. It's not gross at all. Bluetooth is always a bit finicky, but these headphones connect almost flawlessly. You'll automatically reconnect to your newest device, making work MUCH faster! Switching devices is also pretty easy. Using the included accessory cable does not affect the sound quality in any way. Good for battery saving, you don't necessarily need the wireless function when listening! Overall I am more than satisfied with my purchase. It was worth the money and I would recommend these headphones to anyone and everyone! If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. EDIT: As mentioned above, I've had these headphones for a little over a year and I'm still impressed. Even after 1 year of heavy use (several trips, a whole school year in a backpack, recording, listening, making phone calls) they still work perfectly and I haven't had any major problems. In short, I still stick with the 5 star rating. Below is a little more detail: Physical: No physical damage. I try to take care of my belongings but accidents happen and these earbuds have not been scratched, dented or cracked despite extensive use. The foam headband still holds its shape. The earbuds are still fluffy and soft (no cracks or warping). At some point in my 1 year ownership, a small piece of fabric with an "L" (inside the left earcup; it's hiding the electronics etc.) started slipping out, but I was able to put it back in. and since then no more problems. I mostly use the case when transporting these headphones and that's probably the main reason they've retained their physical integrity. I highly recommend this case. They are small, sleek and efficient. Sound: I haven't had any other headphones since then, so I can't compare the sound of other headphones to these, but I will buy the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, known for its studio quality and neutral sound. When buying I will compare the sound. Sometimes I've noticed problems connecting to multiple devices. When headphones are connected to my iPhone and MacBook, I sometimes experience a slight lag when watching YouTube. But as another reviewer mentioned, turning the headphones on and off solves this problem. I don't get all that many calls, but the few calls I've made with these headphones were crystal clear and understandable (I checked on both ends). I've had a few VERY minor Bluetooth connectivity issues in general, but Bose regularly releases firmware updates for their hardware and they've fixed many of those issues. I would say check their update site for updates once a month: http://btu.bose.com/ The only downside is that since they are over-ear headphones they have some natural noise canceling properties, but after trying a few Bose active noise-cancelling headphones at Target, I can't even BEGIN to explain how amazing the active noise-cancelling was. The Bose SoundLink headphones have good natural noise cancellation. It blocks out most background noise and outsiders can't hear my music at all (unless it's turned up really high. Don't do that!). But with active noise-cancelling headphones, it's almost magical. You put those headphones on and it's just dead silence. These headphones are perfect on their own, but if you can afford it, get Bose active noise-cancelling headphones. Just my suggestion. Tip: If you're using these headphones for mixing (I'll update the audio comparison section of this review when I get my new DT770 Pro), be sure to use the dedicated extra cable that comes with them. This guarantees no Bluetooth interference and the purest sound quality. These are not studio headphones but if you plan to use headphones in combination with studio monitors (as a reference hearing aid) or if you want a pair of good monitor headphones to use as headphones for comfortable listening these are great.

  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No performance
