Assembling this chair is dangerous - be careful!

If you have never assembled it yourself DO NOT START with this chair. THIS IS DANGEROUS!1. The backrest is made up of thin (1/4 inch?) metal slats that you have to bend into place to screw onto the chair. If you can't hold the pressure because the bolts are misaligned, they'll snap back to their straight shape and can cause lacerations, bruises, and a loose bolt that will fly around the room for the poor guy trying to pick you up help. gloves when assembling the back; These metal fins are enough to cause a cut if they break out of your hand. The edges don't have to be sharp, but it's a pulling motion that cuts through the glove, not your skin. Safety goggles; The bolts for those metal slats can spring right back on you. 4. DO NOT follow the instructions that came with the chair. This assembly order will lead to extreme frustration and possible bruises on multiple fingers, a cut finger, and/or a missing screw (because it flew across the room. or in your face. Forty years of do-it-yourself assembly never came over it. I have no idea why the manufacturer used metal for the back, it could very well have been strips of leather. Failure to assemble the item correctly can result in injury - I'm not kidding. EDIT - That's how I had to mine Assemble chairs and it's actually easier than following the pictures For those having trouble, try this way: DO NOT use power tools This can be done by hand but is difficult if you are arthritic, have a perfect manicure worth keeping, don't have a finger, etc. Take a break when it comes to you ;" Permission" is a required assembly component. The bottom of the chair is pretty easy to assemble. Tighten the screws loosely until everything is assembled and then = go back and finish this part safely. The problem with metal slats is independent of the base of the chair, so rest assured. Install the slats from the top, making sure the bottom of the slats are inside the C-pillars and ready to be bolted to the chair's seat. Tighten the screws loosely so that there is play in the fins. C. DO NOT screw the center of the fins as shown until you have managed to screw the rest in place. D. With the top in place, gently bend the piece to screw onto the chair seat. This may take a while if you have arthritis, but not so much if you're an animal. Once you've bolted it to the top and seat of the chair, you can position the slats to bolt to the chair rail (just above the seat). Don't worry if the metal strips in the screw holes got bent while you made the chair seat. You won't notice them. F. When you put the metal rod back in, you need to use a lot of pressure to line up the holes. Get help if you need it. The holes line up, but the metal won't bend. This can take the most time; Swearing is optional.G. In this case, one bar appears slightly shorter than the other; it's because the back of the chair isn't perfectly aligned (we all know what 1/8 inch does to line up those holes). Take your time! Fully tighten the screws and add a middle screw that secures the slats where they intersect. I. Fry yourself with your favorite beverage.
