Like most cheap caller id boxes today, the display is severely low contrast and harder to read than boxes made a decade ago. A contrast slider with about 20 settings lets you choose between a background that is too dark (showing all eights) or a foreground that is too light. The device comes with a non-detachable cable, which makes it impossible for you to position the box far from the port with a longer cable. A 1-year warranty is pointless because you have to pay a "shipping and handling fee" upfront that's almost the price of the device. I wish the manufacturers would spend an extra nickel to add two more wires to the input, which would allow a dual line phone to be used (though with caller ID on the 1st line only). Another nice feature is the ability to delete all calls from a specific number at once. Without those features, this Southwest bell performs its primary function adequately, if not superbly.
