No, this is NOT a retention gel!
This is more of a light, translucent cream gel that holds the hair for minutes. As I step outside, my edges are up again. I thought it was an actual hold gel—you know, the kind that actually sets, or at least semi-sets, and holds hair in place for sooo long. Works great, but only for a short time. Great scent and the price is right, that's why three stars for it! Skip this product if you need something that will really hold your edges. Otherwise, you will have to repeat this several times a day.
