I live aboard a sailboat in PNW so I use them for a lot of things. (It's dark here in winter.) I really like the different lighting modes. I've previously learned that while Spotlight modes 1 and 2 deliver a very bright, narrow field, they drain the battery faster. The good news is that the wide-angle LED mode #3 is excellent for most tasks in dark cases. The less powerful mode number 4 is good for general orientation in the dark. I use solid red for normal night deck work and don't use flashing red at all. Motion detection mode (only momentary) is useful for some applications but overly sensitive. When I use it to crawl out of a locker in the dark, like walking past a locker, I turn off the light. It's great to have two: keep both charged so you can swap out the first's battery and charge if the task drags on. UPDATE: I have contacted the seller because one of the device's batteries is no longer charging. They immediately sent me a replacement. I ordered a second pack of headlights so I have spares for my team. Both the company and the divisions are great.
