Review on Akozon Mini Pen Type Stainless Steel Soldering Iron Tips Replacement for TS100 (TS100-JL02): Superior Performance and Precision by Roberto Evans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good for sensitive electronics, but not for fogging copper tubing.

Very thin and sharp point. As mentioned in another review, it has very little thermal mass compared to the larger nozzles that come with most irons, and in some cases this is actually useful. Installers can skip this. However, if you're working with a very thin pen assembly that for some reason precludes the use of reflow systems, this tip might be a good option. It's definitely not "general purpose" and you probably won't need it very often (unless you need to do a lot of fine-pitch work), but in some cases it might fit the bill perfectly. Repair work on the PCB (replacing a fine pitch surface mount connector that had come loose from the PCB) and it did the job perfectly. I made a failed attempt with the TS-B2 (which is also a pretty good tip) and ended up with jumpers across multiple pins. It would be almost impossible to clean it without damaging the connector. The low thermal mass of this tip is well received! This tip helped clean up the mess and left a much more professional finish than the larger tip.
