Edit (08/08/18): Recently I was surprised to receive a package that I didn't order. KobraTech sent me their latest design which met my concerns 100%. This design now holds my phone very well. I admire companies' commitment to their customers because after a year I had practically forgotten and they hadn't. Edit (4/11/17): The company replied to the review and sent me another one. I was hoping not to get the same model but I got it. The smooth ball and base cannot hold heavier smartphones. I broke the plastic trying to pull it tight enough to hold the phone. Now I have two things that are basically useless to me. I still stand by the statement that if the locking mechanism were stronger I would give 4 or 5 stars. I read some reviews that said people struggled with the ball lock's slick design. That heavier cameras and phones don't stay in place and slowly migrate down. Other reviews said they got a new design lock that holds heavier items much better. I have an old design and it has no chance of holding my Pixel XL phone. The flexible arms are really easy to manipulate and it's a really cool design. I could see that I really like this product if it could support the weight of my phone. If you have a lighter phone or camera, I highly recommend it. If you have something heavier look elsewhere or just hope and pray whatever you do for a newer design.
