This is a very well made, thick heavy rubber base with replaceable hitting surface. It is super easy to get immediate feedback regarding both your contact point and swing path. I hesitated making the purchase due to all the comments about the hitting surface not holding up, but if you are a beginner golfer you should be working on half swings and not just flailing away and beating down on the hitting surface. I have been using it for about a month now maybe 30-40 swings a day and still on the original hitting surface with 3 brand new replacements ready to go. For me, the visual of my contact area has been a huge help and really helped improve my swing confidence and my golf scores! This is a great swing trainer and I would highly recommend!
