Review on πŸŽ’ Marmot Slate Everyday Travel Bag Backpacks for Casual Daypacks with Enhanced SEO by Matt Simpson

Although advertised as a 15 inch laptop, fitting a 17 inch laptop is no problem.

I'm comparing this Marmot Slate Everyday Travel Bag to the Marmot Slate All Day Travel Bag and other bags I've used. I mentioned the Marmot Slate All Day Travel Bag because the two bags are very similar and the main difference is in the top access area. The Marmot Slate All Day Travel Bag has a dry bag compartment at the top, while this everyday travel bag has a flap closure with Velcro. I think it will be difficult for light rain to get in, but it depends on making sure the top of the velcro is all the way down and tight. It looks very high quality, which is what I expect from Marmot products (clothing, sleeping bag). This backpack has a nice slim profile so it sits comfortably on your back. But considering that it's basically one big compartment, that means that when it's filled with stuff, you'll have to search through everything to find what you want, especially if the item is smaller and up slipped the floor. Although advertised as having space for a 15" laptop, I easily fit a 17" laptop. The velcro holds up well when new, but the magnetic flap could be better as the velcro loses its effectiveness as it gets old or dirty. A sunglass or phone pocket isn't the "hard shell" you'll find in some other high-end backpacks, but it does have a lining. Probably my main complaint is that this top-loading design requires you to open the roof and dig around in the rain to get what you want out. Meanwhile, water can seep into the main compartment. I'll have to look again but I think the Marmot Slate All Day Travel Bag has both top and side access to the main compartment. Could any of the issues I raised prevent me from using this backpack? no I travel comfortably. And I like it better than the Marmot Slate All Day Travel Bag. It doesn't look like a stuff sack!
