Unlike some other audio amplifiers I've tested, this one doesn't have a volume control. It runs at full volume from the start and you have to control the volume with the input. This causes some loud noise when the amp is on when you plug in the input. or if you touch an unconnected input. I used the computer's audio input to test it. I found that I had to start with the computer at minimum volume and could only turn it up to about a quarter of full volume before the output became uncomfortably loud. In other words, I found this amp to have enough power. white noise with no input, but not that bad. The inputs and outputs are well labeled but the power jack says polarity but not the allowable voltage which I understand is 10-26V. I don't feel like the huge heatsink gets hot but I only got with two small speakers and tested no, it ran for a very long time. I plan to connect multiple speakers to it and use it for large rooms. Of the inexpensive amps I've tested so far, this one seems to put out the most power, although I don't have the ability to measure it at the moment.
