How did this product get so many 5 star reviews? The colors were dazzling, oh so many hook sizes, comfortable grips and a really low price? If any of you have given positive feedback without even trying the hooks, shame on you. The hook part is the most important and these hooks are not very good. I've bought well known brands (Boye, Susan Bates, etc.) one at a time as needed over the years. Due to an anticipated collaboration on a project, I received this set to use and share. I tested the K-Hook on a large platter of half chopsticks and switched between Boye and BeCrafty for hours. The difference was day and night. Boye pulled out three loops with no problem. The BeCraftee's hook hung from each loop, forcing me to squirm three times for each half double stitch, which took at least three times as long. Looking at the entire set and comparing it to the same sized Boye, the BeCraftee hooks are a lot bigger and sicker. - crochet shape. All performed poorly on many types of yarn. There is no single correct crochet hook shape, but it must meet certain design criteria such as hook depth, width and size, curvature in all directions, and surface finish. BeCraftee's designers/engineers are just plain incompetent. Life is too short to waste time on BeCraftee. Forget precision, single crochet stitches for amigurumi, or quick crochet stitches for large projects with BeCraftee. They can be suitable for very loose and slow crocheting. Or, better yet, they make a great gift for your enemy or make a new enemy, your grandkids you want to disown, or an aspiring knitter to get them to give up out of frustration.
