Buy a washable marker instead

I remember using this product in high school to mark edges in home economics class. When a friend mentioned she uses it, I bought it. I don't know how there could be any better or worse ways to use rammed chalk, so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it just doesn't mark anything for more than a while. foot or something. Then the edge becomes shiny and rammed and hard, like there's more clay than chalk. I rotated it and used a different angle. By the time I've burned all four corners, I've already opened one side of the patchwork halfway, and no marks will be left on it at all. I used a small scraping tool to restore some contact with the chalk and the effect was even worse. This product is just a big disappointment. I can say it's supposed to work the same as it did years ago because they still include the plastic retaining cap that was supposed to protect your fingers from chalk. Well now you can skip this part because it doesn't seem to contain chalk and trust me it won't come off your fingers or the fabric you're trying to mark.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Makes no mark at all - tested on cotton and polyester clothing. Want money back. Useless item
