Not being familiar with this type of absorber and the way it was packaged I assumed it was a good product. About after I had sealed half of my food, the thought that the absorbers were hard really crossed my mind. So I took a handful, opened them up and put them in cloth bags to see how they reacted. A typical absorber will be warm, if not hot, when a large volume of air is introduced. These absorbers did not even get above room temperature. As such, there is no chemical reaction that would remove oxygen from the sealed buckets I use. I know it was my fault for ordering these absorbers, I should have read all the reviews. Do not buy oxygen absorbers from this company. Not only is this a waste of time, but it can also lead to spoiled food when you really need it. A NOTICE. I tried to return this item but waited too long to find out the absorbers were unusable. They were kept in the bag they were sent in so it should still be fine.
