50 Pack of Oxy-Sorb 300cc Oxygen Absorber Packets - Ensure Freshness & Longevity for Food Storage Review

I've used it with a vacuum sealer. For many packages this was overkill as the sealer did a good job. For the bags that don't vacuum well (flour doesn't seem to seal well in vacuum) this added extra absorption to complete the vacuum seal. It was impressive to see how little of the air that remained in the air evaporated over several hours. I love them and will come back when the time is right.

I opened this package a few hours after receiving it and started putting scavengers in products that were already sealed in PET bottles. It was a timely process as I had to drain some of the tightly packed food before I could insert the absorber. As I reached for my 5th absorber, I felt the warmth emanating from them as I entered an oxygen-rich environment. I quickly soldered the absorbers and they started to cool down.

Very nice. The Oxysorb bag is vacuum packed a few more times and then the Oxysorbs need to be transferred to another quart sized vacuum bag and resealed as their use will eventually require resealing more vacuum bags. I'm sure they work well, but I can't tell if oxygen will be absorbed into a vacuum bag. However, the little "peep hole" in the original packaging that determines if the packages are still good is still open, so I'm doing something right.

These little guys performed better than expected on my first Mylar bagged 'vacuum' food packaging. When in doubt, I used two absorbent bags for larger bags. After a few days, I checked my results and saw that the mylar bag was firmly attached to its contents. I took the extra step of placing an extra absorbent bag inside the main airtight container. About after I had sealed half of my food, the thought that the absorbers were hard really crossed my mind. So I took a handful, opened them up and put them in cloth bags to see how they reacted.
